The Quakers' game with Mount St. Mary's, which was originally scheduled for noon yesterday, was cancelled due to rain. Penn stayed in Emmitsburg for the night but the game was officially wiped out at 10:45 yesterday morning. It will not be rescheduled. The Quakers will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for their home opener as they welcome Lehigh to Bower Field at 3 p.m. A win against the Engineers would give Penn its first winning streak of the season. The Quakers downed the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, 10-4, on Thursday. It was the Red and Blue's first game after returning from a spring break trip in California. During its West Coast swing, Penn went 1-8, with its lone win coming over Whittier College, 14-4, on March 7. Penn may have to wait a bit longer, however, to get a chance at continuing its streak. The weather forecast for tomorrow does not look very promising. It currently calls for rain in the late afternoon with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Penn is also scheduled to play St. Joseph's Wednesday. The weather is expected to be mostly cloudy but the St. Joe's field may be wet depending on if and how much it rains tomorrow. -- Rick Haggerty
