Electrical outages due to Dental construction Students across campus -- including in sections of Modern Language House and all of Mayer Residence Hall, the high rises and Van Pelt and DuBois college houses –– are scheduled to lose power between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. today, Monday and Wednesday. The Quadrangle's four college houses had one power outage on Wednesday but no more are currently expected. Electricians are currently preparing the area for a new $23 million Dental School building. The power outages were originally scheduled to occur between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. but were changed when many students complained that their alarm clocks were being reset. She added that while some shutdowns were scheduled over winter break, it was impossible to complete them all during that time because of the involvement of "outside entities" such as the Pennsylvanian Electric Company. She stressed that the standard shutdowns all occurred while most students were still on vacation. -- Sharon Male
