Wharton appoints new dean for external affairs Leach, who replaces Jordan Tannenbaum, will oversee fundraising, corporate and foundation relations, alumni relations, public affairs and media relations. He spent the last 12 years at Seton Hall University, including four years as its vice president of university affairs. While at Seton Hall, Leach conducted a five-year capital campaign, a marketing project and tripled the school's alumni clubs. Prior to his time at Seton Hall, he was a fundraiser for Georgetown University. A graduate of Connecticut's Fairfield University, Leach expects to complete a law degree from Seton Hall next month. He has served as a Trustee of the Hospital Center at Orange, in Orange, N.J., and as a development advisor for the American Cancer Society. Leach would not comment on the appointment. -- Michael Brus Three females steal shoes from 9&Co; Three females stole two pairs of shoes from 9 & Co. yesterday afternoon while one smoked marijuana in the store, police said. The suspects, who fled from the scene without being arrested, swiped the shoes -- valued at $110 -- from the shop on 34th Street between Chestnut and Walnut streets, University Police said. One of the suspects -- who were described as 17-year-old African American females -- had been smoking marijuana inside the establishment, police said. The incident occurred between 5 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. yesterday, police said. The pot-smoking suspect was described as heavy-set and wearing jeans and a red T-shirt. Another suspect was described as wearing dark denim jeans, carrying a black leather backpack and having braces, while a third wore a jeans jumper and green sweater, had braided hair and carried a large Gap shopping bag. -- Scott Lanman
