Senior co-captain Craig Rappaport will be the only player representing the Penn men's squash team this weekend at the squash individual national championship tournament today at Trinity in Hartford, Conn. "I'm very disappointed that we didn't have the others ready to play," Quakers coach Ned Edwards. The Quakers had hoped to send three players. But senior co-captain Andrew Braff withdrew because of a hamstring injury. And freshman Shams Mistry decided not to make the trip after a dispute with Edwards. "Shams is not going because of his behavior on the court," Edwards said. Rappaport will be seeded 10th in the field of 64. His first match today will begin at 9:45 a.m. He is entering the tournament with a record of 10-5 and is hoping to place in the top 10. "It's the last time I'll play squash competitively on the collegiate level," Rappaport said. Edwards will make the trip with Rapport and is optimistic about the tournament that he won himself during his collegiate career. "I'm expecting that Craig will play the No. 1 player from Princeton in the round of 16 if all goes well," Edwards said. Rappaport lost 3-0 in the national team tournament last week to the same player. Rappaport has played some of his best matches in past few weeks defeating Trinity 3-2 after being down 2-1 and losing a very close match to Harvard 3-1. He hopes to be able to continue his excellent play into his final weekend.
