Compiled by DP sports staff Allen, who was a three-time all-Ivy standout with the Quakers, was drafted by Minnesota in the second round of the NBA draft last year and is averaging 3.1 points and 1.4 assists per game. But although Allen will make the trip, he will not see any action. Allen was placed on the injured list with bursitis of the right knee on February 23 and is ineligible to play. Allen has seen his playing time diminish since the Timberwolves fired ex-coach Bill Blair on December 18. New Minnesota coach Flip Saunders has cut Allen's minutes in half. Under Blair, Allen averaged 14.3 minutes per game. But since the coaching change, his playing time has dwindled to just 7.0 minutes a contest. Allen is the all-time Penn leader in both assists and steals and is the fifth-leading scorer in school history. He led the Quakers to the Ivy League championship in 1993, 1994 and 1995. With Allen at the helm, Penn made three trips to the NCAA tournament, once making it to the second round after an upset of Nebraska. The Timberwolves have a record of 18-40, the fourth-worst record in the NBA. But the Sixers are the league's worst at 11-46.
