Police help homeless find shelter University Police is participating in the city-wide effort to place the homeless in shelters during periods of severe cold weather, according to University Police Sergeant Keith Christian. The program, known as Code-Blue, allows the police to place the homeless in shelters with or without the person's consent. In addition, Christian said police can bring the homeless to police stations and let them stay in the lobby for the duration of the Code-Blue. -- Keith Huebsch
