The PanHellenic Council elected Kappa Alpha Theta sister and Wharton junior Lissette Calderon its new president last night. She ran unopposed. Calderon, currently the treasurer of Pan Hellenic Council, will assume the position of president after formal rush. She is replacing College senior and Alpha Phi sister Suzanne Rosenberg, who has served as Panhel president since last semester. "Lissette has been an active member on the current board," Rosenberg said. "She has showed an enormous amount of enthusiasm which I'm sure will be reflected in her presidency." College junior and Sigma Delta Tau sister Michelle Nadler was elected Panhel vice president, and College junior and Alpha Chi Omega sister Tara Troy was chosen to be vice president of rush. Both Nadler and Troy, a former rush assistant, ran unopposed. "I am very excited for the new board," Rosenberg said. "I think they will effectively implement all future goals for Pan Hellenic council." Chi Omega sister and College junior Amy Greenfield was elected treasurer, defeating College sophomore, Hayley Brener, a Sigma Delta Tau sister. The new secretary is Wharton junior and Alpha Phi sister Tracy Akresh, who defeated College sophomore and Phi Sigma Sigma sister Erin Heffernan. Wharton sophomore and Phi Sig Sig sister Danielle Morgan was selected as publicity vice president, defeating College sophomore and Delta Delta Delta sister Amy Scharff. "I hope to see productive results from the Greek task force in the future from which we can better the current system," she said. Rosenberg said she hopes there will be more communication between the three campus Greek organizations in the future. The presidents of the Interfraternity Council, Panhel and the Bi-Cultural Inter-Greek Council will meet tomorrow night to discuss future goals of the system.
