High Rise South, King's Court/English House and Modern Languages College House will have different addresses starting this fall. Director of Residential Living Gigi Simeone said that Facilities Planning changed the addresses of the three dormitories to make their locations less confusing for ambulances and fire trucks. "A primary reason the change was made was so the street address reflected where the actual entrance was," Simeone said. "[The change] was important for emergency vehicles." She said that Facilities Planning decided on the new addresses last year, but did not implement them at that time because of the "grave inconvenience" such a mid-year change would have caused. Simeone added that students slated to live in the three dorms were notified of the new addresses during the spring semester. Assistant Director of Residential Living Nancy McCue said the Postal Service assured the University the address change would not affect the delivery of mail to those dorms. She said that letters and packages possessing an old address will still be delivered to the proper location because of the last four digits of the zip code, which denote specific buildings on campus. According to Simeone, High Rise South's address will change from 3901 Spruce Street to 3910 Irving Street; Modern Languages College House will change from 3940 Locust Walk to 3941 Irving Street, and King's Court/English House will change from 3446 Chestnut Street to 3465 Sansom Street. -- Stephen Rosenberg
