Martin said she could not disclose the names of the five remaining firms, but she said a final contract offer will be made by July 15. However, Martin did say that McGinn Services -- the security company whose contract was terminated by the University with four years left -- was one of the original 14 applicants. The five remaining firms will go through extensive background checks and will then be brought in for bid interviews which will eventually narrow the pool down further, Martin added. The interviews will be conducted by representatives from Vice Provost for University Life, the Department of Public Safety and the Purchasing Department. -- Daniel Gingiss
