Members of the Religious Society of Friends began holding meetings on campus this week, said Parker Snowe, Quaker Worship Group spokesperson and the coordinator of the Wharton Global Immersion Program. Although only five Quakers attended the first meeting, Snowe said he hopes Quaker students, faculty and staff alike will turn up at future gatherings. The new religious group is unaffiliated with other campus religious groups, he added. At a Quaker meeting, there is no minister or priest. Worshippers pray in silence "unless they are moved to speak," Snowe said. -- Jorie Green
