Student robbed by man with gun

A male student was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night at the corner of 34th and Chestnut streets, University Police Sergeant Larry Salotti said last night. The student was robbed of $18 in cash at around 11:40 p.m., but was uninjured, Salotti said. The robber acted alone and is described as about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. Salotti said the man has a thin build, is about 30 years old and has a mustache. At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a blue vest and Salotti said the student told police the robber had a "dirty appearance." Salotti said University Police have made no arrests and have no suspects in the incident. In an unrelated incident, a Lee's Hoagie House employee was robbed at 39th and Pine streets last night at around 8:20 p.m. by four males, Salotti said. Salotti said the men reportedly robbed him of $400 cash and took his delivery bike in the robbery. He added that University Police have apprehended no suspects. One suspect is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, wearing a black leather jacket and black ski mask. The other three are described as wearing gray sweatsuits and black ski masks. In a separate incident, University Police had a report of arson in the Quadrangle dormitory, which took place between late Sunday night and early Monday morning, Salotti said. A kiosk near the Ward dormitory exterior, which is located in a Quad archway, was found burned yesterday morning and was reported to police, Salotti said. He added that University Police have made no arrests and have no suspects. The arson occurred between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.
