Armed men rob student

Two men robbed a student at gunpoint around 2:45 a.m. yesterday at 42nd and Pine streets, University Police said yesterday. University Police Sergeant Larry Salotti said last night that one of the men displayed a nine millimeter semi-automatic handgun during the robbery. The two men took the student's brown leather jacket and his wallet, Salotti said. The student described both men as being around 5-9 and weighing 165 pounds. Salotti added that the student said the man who carried the gun was wearing a blue windbreaker and said the other man was wearing a black leather jacket. Salotti said the two men were last seen running east down Pine Street from 42nd Street. He added that the student was not injured during the robbery. Police made no arrests in the case and have no suspects at this time. In an unrelated incident, two students had their PENNcards stolen early Saturday morning during a party at the Sigma Nu fraternity house, University Police said yesterday. Salotti said that in both thefts, the PENNcards were unattended. In the first theft, a student's PENNcard and room keys were stolen from inside the fraternity house, located at 3819 Walnut Street, Salotti said. In the second theft, a student's PENNcard and wallet were taken from a jacket left unattended in the house. In another unrelated incident, three men took several compact disks from Sam Goody at 3401 Walnut Street, Saturday afternoon, University Police said yesterday. The incident, which occurred around 4 p.m. in the afternoon, involved three men who walked out of the store without paying for several CDs, Salotti said last night. He said he did not know exactly how many CDs the men took from the store. The management of the store was not available last night for comment on the theft. Police made no arrests in the case and they have no suspects at this time.
