The directories -- which serve as the social bible for countless students during the first months of school -- were inadvertently printed without campus adresses and phone numbers for undergraduates who live on campus. It's a mistake no other book can match -- but even James Earl Jones wouldn't pitch these directories. PSA was informed of the flaw just before the directories were scheduled to be distributed. The challenge for the organization now will be handling the problem appropriately. PSA printed the phone books, but the Registrar's Office supplied the incomplete student information. In the past, when mistakes have involved one or more separate organizations, the problem-solving has often disintegrated into bickering and finger-pointing about who should shoulder the blame. While that might make PSA or the Registrar's Office feel better, it does nothing for the 10,000 undergraduates who want to let their fingers do the walking. Both groups should bite the bullet, solve the problem and leave deciding fault to the editors of next year's directory, who should also remember to check for addresses next year. In the meantime, students should show patience and be kind to the University operatiors who will be forced to deal with the on-going crush of calls for students' numbers. After all, we know for sure it is not their fault.
