After the game, Princeton coach Mitch Henderson said of Penn freshman guard Tony Hicks, “I thought the kid Hicks did a really nice job going left on us.”

Junior guard Miles Cartwright struggled Saturday at Jadwin Gym, failing to score in double figures for the second straight game. Cartwright notched six points in 28 minutes.

The official attendance at Jadwin Gym was 3577 during Princeton’s reading period, just 13 less than the 3590 that saw the Tigers dash the Quakers’ 2011-12 Ivy title hopes on Mar. 6.

With the loss to Princeton, Jerome Allen falls to 1-6 all-time against the Tigers as Penn head coach.

Tony Hicks shot 8-for-18 from the field Saturday, much higher than his 36.3 percent field goal percentage on the season.

The Quakers shot just 40.4 percent from the field as a team, including a woeful 8-for-25 in the first half.

The Tigers started out the second half on an 11-0 run to open up a 42-22 lead over the Quakers that proved too much for Penn to overcome.

Freshman center Darien Nelson-Henry also scored in double figures, posting 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting in 20 minutes of action.
