If, as the Wu-Tang Clan declared, cash rules everything, then Penn is one of the most potent institutions in higher education.

According to US News and World Report, Penn ranks No. 2 in the number of millionaire alumni. Only Harvard surpasses Penn on the list, which was formed by magazine Elite Traveler and research firm WealthInsight.

Three other Ivy League universities make an appearance on the list — Yale (No. 9), Princeton (No. 8) and Cornell (No. 7). Three public schools — the University of Michigan (No. 10), the University of Texas, Austin (No. 6) and the University of California, Berkeley (No. 5) — also land in the top 10.

Earlier in the summer, Penn led another wealth-related list, this time ranking No. 1. According to Forbes, Penn has the most billionaire alumni in the nation.
