A community-wide alert was issued at 5:56 p.m. on Oct. 18 regarding an armed robbery at the intersection of 38th and Sansom streets.
A 36-year-old male, unaffiliated with the University, reported that he was approached from behind by two unknown suspects, threatened with a gun and directed to “Give it up.”
The man was allegedly assaulted, and the suspects took his watch and his wallet which contained credit cards and cash.
The victim was not injured, according to the Division of Public Safety. DPS is working with Philadelphia Police Department’s Southwest Detectives Division in an ongoing investigation.
After police arrived in the area, the area was given an all clear signal at 6:25 p.m.
