The Netter Center Student Advisory Board encourages students to step off campus and take advantage of transformative civic engagement opportunities.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, tens of thousands of students who were unable to leave their home countries deferred their admission or called off their studies completely.

The Center for Guaranteed Income Research aims to find data-based support for guaranteed income policies by studying the impacts of direct cash payment programs in cities across the country. 

Philadelphia Magazine's recent ranking of the most important people in Philadelphia featured Penn President Amy Gutmann, Pennsylvania Health System CEO Kevin Mahoney, along with renowned Penn professors Ezekiel Emanuel and Angela Duckworth and others. 

The prize recognizes individuals who have made a transformative impact on teaching and learning through innovative projects in three categories: higher education, learning science research, and pre-K-12 education.

The research accounted for not only deaths due to COVID-19, but also deaths that stemmed from compromised economic, social, and healthcare circumstances during the pandemic.

After teaching the 2,400-person Wharton course on economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic last spring, Guillén said he sensed a pervasive anxiety about the post-pandemic future from his students in that class and others.
