Penn men’s lacrosse kept its winning streak intact on Saturday with a thrilling 13-12 overtime win over Ivy League rival and defending national champion Yale.

There are several things I’d like to note in the recently published DP articles which argued for and against the compensation of collegiate athletes. 

The Quakers enter their next game against Northwestern as the No. 5 team in the country according to the Women’s Division I Media Poll, and their 9-1 record tops the Ivy League.

As a freshman, Handley has played in all seven of the Quakers’ games so far this season and has scored in almost every one of them.

The Quakers never led against the visiting Broncs and fell by a score of 5-2 after giving up the first five runs of the game.

The spring seasons are rapidly unfolding, with tennis heading into Ivy play and rowing and golf getting their seasons underway.

For Penn women’s lacrosse, this Sunday’s contest in Evanston, Ill. against No. 5 Northwestern is one that the team has been looking forward to for an entire year. 

In a season already defined by fierce competition, Penn men’s lacrosse will face what may be its toughest opponent yet on Saturday — the reigning national champion, No. 2 Yale.

The members of Penn softball knows how to enjoy themselves outside the lines with a fun, and sometimes competitive, game of hacky sack before they take the field. 

For freshman pitcher Julia Longo, the story of the season has been improvement. 

In her stellar freshman year, Dyer earned honorable mention All-Ivy and two Rookie of the Week awards, but she hasn't stopped there. 

Nia Akins started track by accident. Now she is second in the nation.

The Quakers walked away with a pair of championships in the Varsity 8 and the Second Varsity 8.

The women secured a dominant first place overall finish against a very competitive mix of 12 teams. The men finished second out of 10 teams, just six points behind Army.

The Quakers went head-to-head with the Crimson in a three-game series, coming out on top with two wins and one loss.

The seniors were sent off in a strong team effort, as Penn scored its second-best point total on the season at 193.125.

On Saturday, Penn women’s tennis secured a 5-0 home victory against St. John’s, who came into the meet hot off of a five-match win streak.
