While the rest of us will be at Penn Park this weekend for the Spring Fling concert, several of the Penn teams will compete in pivotal Ivy League contests.

Coming off a major conference win over Ivy foe Dartmouth, Penn women’s lacrosse is looking to take down Columbia this coming Saturday.

Burrough’s decision to leave the team comes two months after the DP published an article detailing poor player retention on Penn softball and allegations of mistreatment from softball coach Leslie King, who is in her 15th year at Penn.

After last weekend’s gut wrenching loss to Brown, Penn sits fifth in the Ivy standings. With just two games remaining in the Ivy League schedule, the Quakers (5-6, 1-3 Ivy) are on the outside looking in.

Two months later, the team is still without a head coach. In this offseason limbo, assistant coach Josh Wielebnicki has stepped up to fill the gap. And in the eyes of many players, not much has changed.

Both Penn men's and women's tennis experienced highs and lows this weekend, splitting the weekend with a 1-1 record with both teams defeating Cornell and losing to Columbia. 

At the Princeton Invitational, which was played over a shortened 36 holes at Springdale Golf Club, due to concerns about inclement weather, men’s golf finished in second place out of twelve teams. 

Red and Blue rowing was oars away this weekend as men’s heavyweight, men’s lightweight, and women’s rowing all competed this past Saturday against stiff ivy-league competition early into the season.

The Quakers had to replace all-time home run and RBI leader, Leah Allen, as well as the pitching and hitting prowess of Alexis Sargent. Add that on top of the fact that those two were the heart and soul of the squad, the Quakers had big shoes to fill.

Penn women’s gymnastics senior Alex Hartke executed her famous floor routine one last time as an individual at this year’s NCAA Regionals this past weekend at Penn State.

The Red and Blue combined for eight event wins on the day, taking gold in both track and field events. That being said, the women were a dominant force who are making their mark in the program’s record books.  

After starting off its season with an upset of then No. 1 Duke, Penn men's lacrosse is now out of an Ivy League playoff spot after a heartbreaking 10-9 loss to Brown.

After a rough start to the season, a dominant weekend from Penn softball proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Ivy League. The Quakers swept a weekend series against Yale, winning 7-2, 5-1, and 9-8.

From West Hills, California, enter freshman stud Lucy Yang. The freshman infielder has been playing lights out for the Quakers (11-15 overall, 7-5 Ivy), making an immediate impact. 

Coming on in relief of starter Tabitha Dyer, Brann threw three shutout innings to secure the 5-3 victory. Perhaps most impressively, the Houston, Texas native allowed only a single hit against the Wildcats.

After a hard fought battle, the Quakers emerged victorious over Dartmouth, 13-11. The win puts Penn (9-2, 3-0 Ivy) in sole possession of first place in the Ivy League.
