Penn women's rowing defeated Cornell for the Class of '89 Plaque -- only the third time Penn has won it in program history.

Penn women's rowing tested its limits this weekend, and they did not come away empty handed. While in action at the Clemson Invitational in South Carolina, the Quakers secured the Class of '89 Plaque for only the third time in program history.

Senior midfielder Pat Berkery, who was on the team that came up just short of the Ivy League crown two years ago, is optimistic that this year's group can once again challenge to be top dog in the Ancient Eight.

This year was supposed to be a step backwards for Penn baseball. After a program-record 14 Ivy League wins a season ago, the Red and Blue graduated a cavalcade of veteran standouts; a total of ten seniors played their final games in 2015, two of whom — Austin Bossart and Ronnie Glenn — were talented enough to take their skills to the professional level. And accordingly, the team has not been as dominant as it was a year ago.
