Richards's departure comes at a heightened time for the company as they brace for potential fare hikes, service cuts, and debates with their unionized workers. 

University City District, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the neighborhood, partnered with Renata’s in an effort to sponsor a family-friendly event in the West Philadelphia community. 

The Penn community will be voting on races up and down the 2024 general election ballot. 

Penn College Republicans and Penn Democrats, the University’s largest partisan political organizations, told The Daily Pennsylvanian that they have faced difficulties registering events on campus.

As Election Day approaches, The Daily Pennsylvanian spoke with several Penn political groups about the importance of the 2024 election and what they believe is at stake. 

The statement marks Penn's first official comment since the Oct. 18 search, while both external and internal pressure continues to mount on University administrators for it.

The vote passed by a 40-27 margin, and roughly 90 library staff members will join the union.

The rally, which was organized by the No Arena PHL Coalition, aimed to express opposition to the proposal for a new 76ers arena on the border of Philadelphia's Chinatown.

At the rally, speakers including Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, and Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Joanna McClinton stressed the importance of voter turnout.

Approximately 50 students, Penn affiliates, ACCA members, and Philadelphia community members attended the event, which was held at Two Locals Brewing on Oct. 23.

The group wrote in a statement to The Daily Pennsylvanian that “the decision to place these tags was a spontaneous one” and denied any affiliation to the University. 

The initiative, supported by a grant from the Spencer Foundation, aims to incorporate digital, written, art, performance, and other forms of media to create a dynamic archive focusing on stories of Philadelphia’s Black youth.

Casey and Warnock urged attendees to continue to participate in grassroots campaigning and to encourage their friends to turn out to vote on Nov. 5. 

A spokesperson for the DA's office confirmed to the DP that it had “reviewed and approved a search warrant for a location in West Philadelphia."

Delco Steaks is closing its doors just shy of two years since they opened at Franklin's Table, while High Street Hoagies has held a stall in the food hall for six years. 

The meeting is part of a citywide effort against the arena led by the No Arena in Chinatown Solidarity Group.

At the “Get Out the Early Vote” rally, Ocasio-Cortez and Fain encouraged an energized crowd of around 250 attendees to continue canvassing and door knocking in the final two weeks leading up to Election Day.
