Sometimes the best decisions are the ones we never saw coming. For Penn senior Phoebe Sterba, this has proven especially true.

Penn men's and women's basketball created plenty of buzz this weekend with a number of exciting plays.

It was a long weekend for Penn men's swimming, as the team competed in the Ivy League Championships, where they set several personal records. 

March Madness is quickly approaching, and the members of the Ancient Eight must first survive Ivy Madness if they want to make it to the Big Dance.

Penn baseball hit the road with high expectations for its first series of the season, but it left with mixed results.  

Penn women’s track and field secured the team’s third consecutive victory in the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships with 133 points. 

Opening up with a strong 8-1 win over No. 6 Yale, the Red and Blue won a hard-fought victory against No. 2 Trinity, 6-3, to set themselves up for the final.

The team's win over Brown officially clinched the Quakers’ trip to Ivy League Tournament, most likely as the second or third seed depending on the results of next week's games.

Senior Night saw another night of high turnout in support of the Quakers, whose fans saw their team clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament with a 74-60 win over Brown.

That’s my biggest takeaway: Penn rescued hope from the jaws of defeat with their normal basketball. But the fact that hope needed rescuing is more noteworthy than the successful rescue itself. 

The Quakers defeated Brown on Saturday by a score of 73-68 in a game that was closely contested from start to finish.

The loss drops the Quakers to 1-2 this season, with all of their matchups coming against ranked opponents. 

The stands of the Palestra were filled with parents from both Penn and Yale, but despite the home-court advantage, the Quakers slipped to a 71-54 loss.

Some stats from that last minute and thirty-nine seconds: Zero points scored. Thirteen points allowed. Seven turnovers. Two reviews at the monitor. One astounding loss.

At a raucous John J. Lee Amphitheater, the Quakers lost to the Bulldogs, 76-73, after a wild 13-0 Yale run in the last two minutes. 

The women will take a big step towards Ivy Madness with a win over the Bulldogs, while the men will look for another upset over the League-leading Elis.
