Representatives for Abuse and Sexual Assault Prevention, Disabled Advocacy @Penn, and Muslim Students Association made requests to the council on Wednesday evening.

The three recent acts — two of which were discovered on Oct. 21 and one of which was discovered on the morning of Oct. 23 — follow at least three separate instances of vandalism over the weekend.

Both groups indicated a large boost in members and engagement this semester compared to previous years. 

Over 900 Penn affiliates registered for the event, half of whom were students, according to a University spokesperson.

Penn partially removed the fencing surrounding College Hall on Oct. 21, allowing students to use the full area of the plaza in front of Houston Hall. 

Students were able to participate in a variety of activities at the festival, such as axe throwing, pumpkin and face painting, a 360 photo booth, and bounce houses.

Students gathered in the backyard of the Penn Women’s Center on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to commemorate the lives lost in Gaza.

Climate Week, a yearly tradition at Penn, provides an opportunity for the Penn community to learn about and engage with climate action.

Multiple faculty members told The Daily Pennsylvanian that they were not aware of how the sector tag assignment process worked or what committees were involved.

Two of the vandalized signs were located at the ARCH building and Annenberg Public Policy Center, according to pictures obtained by The Daily Pennsylvanian.

A University spokesperson told The Daily Pennsylvanian that the Steering Committee declined the proposal, reiterating Penn’s opposition to boycotts, divestment, or sanctions against Israel. 

The Penn JVP Chapter was founded by a College sophomore and graduate student, who requested anonymity due to fear of personal harassment.  

The demonstrators addressed Board of Trustees Chair Ramanan Raghavendran, calling for him to use his position to lead the University's divestment from fossil fuels.

The program, which is a collaboration between the Penn Center for Public Health and Penn Farm, starts every week at 11:30 a.m. and runs until the produce is gone.

The event was organized by Vote That Jawn, a nonpartisan initiative started by Penn senior lecturer Lorene Cary to bring young voters to the polls. 

The suit explicitly names the former director of Student Financial Aid at Penn for involvement in the price fixing scheme.

The report, which was released in July, listed 742 total incidents — a 22% increase from 608 in 2022-23 and 678 the year before.
