Time and time again in the college football ranks, Penn running backs coach David Sims has learned that it’s not just about what you know, it’s about who you know.

Sports associate Andrea Mendoza argues that Penn football needs to shift its priorities to next season by playing younger players now. 

Coming off a strong performance against Lehigh at home last week, the Quakers traveled to New York City to take on the 4-1 Columbia Lions during their homecoming weekend. The Quakers showed flashes of dominance, but were unable to piece together a complete performance, as they fell to the Lions, 23-14. 

Men and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, and field hockey are all in action this weekend. All Quaker teams will face Ivy League competition.

In their second Ivy League conference match-up, the Quakers (2-2, 0-1 Ivy) are preparing to face the Columbia Lions (3-1, 0-1) at their homecoming this Saturday, Oct. 16.  

Penn men’s soccer broke down neighboring Drexel in the span of four minutes in the second half, recording a 2-1 win at Rhodes Field.

In between an internship with Bank of America and the upcoming college track and field season, junior Grace O’Shea spent two weeks of her summer at the Team USA bobsled training camp.

Senior Trey Flowers has provided sparks for the Quaker offense whenever he’s been able to get his hands on the ball, averaging 44 yards per game so far this season.

An afternoon hair salon appointment. For most people, this seems like a relatively normal thing. But for junior Autumn Leak, this was the beginning of her volleyball career. 

The Quakers competed in its third tournament of the year — the Yale Fall Intercollegiate — on Oct. 9 and 10. The team finished sixth out of 10 at the 54-hole invitational.

For Penn, a rookie playing from the back line has been leading the team in minutes played — freshman center back Leo Burney. Burney has totaled 840 minutes on the field as a starting player for all nine matches of the Red and Blue's matches as of yet. 

In a 63-0 home win against Cornell, the Red and Blue never took their foot off the gas. 

Despite a great effort, the Quakers lost to Columbia on Saturday, dropping their away record to 0-3-2.

After losing their first Ivy match to Cornell last weekend, Penn men's soccer looked to up their conference standings in last night’s game in New York. 

After a freshman campaign that included 14 appearances, the Dallas native is off to a blazing start in her junior year.

Just as they were starting to gain some momentum, Penn volleyball suffered a tough loss to Cornell on Saturday, losing all three sets in the match.

In a game that required extra time to determine a winner, the Quakers were able to come away with a gritty 2-1 win over Cornell.
