Van Pelt thefts down 74 percent from last year
Between Jan. 1 and Sept. 16 of 2011, there were 19 thefts from building in Van Pelt. In the same time period in 2012, there were only five.

Crime against property decreased from 118 in 2011 to 108 in 2012, while crime against person increased from 19 to 21 incidents, an 11 percent increase since last summer.
