Penn President Liz Magill announced her plans to resign in an email to the Penn community on Dec. 9. Minutes later, Scott Bok wrote he is stepping down from his position as the chair of the University Board of Trustees, according to a statement from Bok obtained by The Daily Pennsylvanian.

In 2020, the Daily Pennsylvanian published an editorial encouraging students to look forward to 2021. On Nov. 21, the University officially denied Penn Chavurah a space to screen the documentary film Israelism. They gave the justification that the film is not right for the climate on campus at this time. The University is censoring Jewish students for criticizing Israel.

Even though a loss at Harvard (8-1, 5-1 Ivy) last weekend has mathematically eliminated Penn football (6-3, 3-3) from Ivy League title contention, the Quakers still have one game left. After the National Labor Relations Board ruled in August that resident advisors are employees of the University and therefore have a right to vote for a union, we felt validated — and knew it was time to organize leading up to the election. Connecting with our coworkers. Calling. Texting. Engaging in conversations over lunch or coffee. Educating our co-workers about their rights, calming concerns of retaliation, or that a union could lead to a loss of benefits (rumors and false concerns perpetuated by anti-union sentiments). To unionize is our right.
