Sometimes the numbers really do speak for themselves.
The Penn football team(6-1, 4-0 Ivy League) maintained its undefeated Ivy League record this afternoon by defeating the Brown Bears (0-7, 0-4), 31-7, at Franklin Field. Mike Mitchell had a near-perfect performance, completing 28 of 34 passes, including three touchdowns. The Quakers won despite fumbling seven times, with Brown recovering four of the loose balls. Yet the Bears were unable to capitalize whatsoever. Brown's star wide receiver, Chas Gessner, was limited to just one catch for six yards in the first half. The Bears moved the ball well in spurts, but failed to mount a successful scoring drive. Penn's receivers, by contrast, were far more effective. Senior Rob Milanese led the team with eight catches and 121 yards, while sophomore Daniel Castles contributed with seven catches for 93 yards, and two highlight-reel touchdown catches.
