Last night a geofilter went live at the Theta chapter house. An early morning sample of stories suggests that Theta's replaces "Turn Up On Delancey" as the hottest Penn geofilter. We didn't know sororities were eligible for their own filter, but Snapchat now allows submissions.

Being the number one party school isn't all fun and (drinking) games. As an IVY LEAGUE INSTITUTION it is just inconceivable that Penn students want to party or have fun, or you know, just live their lives without everyone coming along and writing a derogatory thinkpiece. Normally, this job is left to random outsiders to explain how and why we "difmo" or our overwhelming obsession with status. Luckily this time, we were analyzed by one of our own – how enlightening!

You may have seen him zip down Locust Walk or Spruce Street outfitted in a sock monkey hat. You may have even had a philosophy class with him. You might have read one of his jokes in the The Pennsylvania Punch Bowl or his byline online on The Sports Quotient. Many students have seen College sophomore Luke Hoban zoom around campus in his wheelchair, but may not know that he lives with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy.

Last Thursday, a column by Nursing junior Hannah F. Victor ran in the DP in light of the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade. This Supreme Court case established that by extension of the 14th Amendment, a woman has the right to privacy, which includes her decision to abort her pregnancy. My issue with Victor's article, however, is that the claims made are not only factually inaccurate, but present a dangerous, unsupported view of the nature of abortion and women’s bodies.

Several international students at Penn didn’t have the good fortune of returning home for winter break. It can feel easy to be lonely on a barren campus, but two students made the best of their time off in Philly.

Emailing is hard – just ask our grandma. You never know when you are actually emailing your mom, or when you end up sending your condensed Christmas list (who condenses an Xmas list?) to your Professor.

Coming off of a 1-0 loss to Cornell last Sunday, the Quakers (2-3, 0-1 Ivy) will travel an hour north to face the Lafayette Leopards on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Rappolt Field. If Penn capitalizes on its strengths Wednesday, it can expect to win against the Leopards, who are still recovering from a weak 2013 season and have been off to a less-than-favorable start this year.

A little less than five years ago, my dad saved my life by paying out of pocket for a CT scan. While on a family trip to Canada earlier in the summer, I contracted a cold which evolved into a sinus infection which in turn developed complications, spreading outward from my sinuses to my optic nerve and toward my brain. A persistent, weeks-long headache finally sent me home from my second day of high school at the end of August and led my parents to take me to see the doctor, but she was unable tell us what was wrong. Finally, during my third visit in less than a week, she told my dad she’d like to try a CT scan. The problem was that our family’s insurance policy wouldn’t cover it; my symptoms at the time failed to justify the procedure in the eyes of our provider. By then I was sick enough — and my dad desperate enough — that he told her he’d pay.

The admitted class of 2018 is a diverse group, both in their interests and their origins. They hail from all 50 states and countries as close as Canada and as far away as Kuwait. And while zero students are planning to study Geology, over 300 applied undecided, giving them plenty of time to consider switching in.

For those of you not feeling the love tonight, don't fret, we aren't either. But instead of playing the Grinch that stole V-Day (again), here's a list of dream Penn pairings that will probably make you feel cold and hungry, but we hope it makes you see that there's someone something out there for everyone!
