Penn men's golf finishes in middle of pack at Yale Spring Invitational

Quakers come in sixth in field of 13 as Villanova takes team title

The Penn men’s golf team took sixth place in the Yale Spring Invitational Saturday at The Course at Yale, shooting 298-302—600 over 36 holes.

Leading the way for the Quakers were seniors P.J. Fielding and Max Marsico, who both shot 147 for the day to tie for 10th in the 68-player field. Senior Colin St. Maxens and sophomore Ben Cooley tied for 25th, each shooting 153 for the weekend.

Penn ranked first among the five Ivies participating, with Columbia placing directly behind Penn at seventh (603).

Villanova claimed the team title with a two-round 583, led by seniors Michael Kania and Steve Skurla’s dual scores of 142.

The next stop for the Quakers is the 54-hole Princeton Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
