Nearly three months after opening the spring with a win over the reigning NCAA tournament champion Duke, Penn men's lacrosse's season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA tournament, losing 13-6 to another 2010 NCAA finalist, Notre Dame.

The Quakers traveled to South Bend, Ind., after receiving an at-large bid into the championship tourney, their first in five years. Facing the fourth-seeded Fighting Irish, Penn was able to keep it close for two quarters, entering the lockerroom down, 8-5, at the half. But Notre Dame's defense would only give up one more goal after the break and the Quakers were sent packing.

Penn's scoring effort was evenly distributed as six different Quakers all netted a goal each. Midfield Dan Savage was the only member of the Red and Blue to record an assist. He had a goal as well. Penn was outshot 24-41 on the day.

Penn finished its season 8-7, 4-2 Ivy, good for second in the Ivy League, and a massive leap up from dead last in 2010.
