Two alleged thieves leave Penn

Wang, Myers are no longer enrolled at the University

Two students accused of committing crimes in dormitories during the fall semester are no longer enrolled at the University.

Wharton senior Jason Myers, who allegedly burglarized rooms in Harnwell College House, and Diexia Wang, who allegedly stole bras and panties from Mayer Hall dorm rooms, are no longer enrolled at Penn, Vice Provost for University Life spokesman Matt Waller said.

Waller would not elaborate on the circumstances of their departures.

He did not say whether the students voluntarily left Penn or whether the departures were a result of the alleged criminal activity.

Neither Myers nor Wang has graduated from the University, Waller said.

Myers has been charged with crimes stemming from the thefts of various electronics from Harnwell College House between Nov. 21 and Nov. 26.

Myers has confessed to the crimes, according to police.

After his arrest, Myers remained a student at the University during the fall semester but did not continue to live in Harnwell.

Currently free on $5,000 bail, Myers is awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 25.

Wang has been charged with burglary, stalking, harassment and other related offenses in connection with having allegedly stolen 30 to 35 bras and pairs of panties from dorm rooms in Mayer Hall in Stouffer College House.

Wang has been released on $2,500 bail.

He is scheduled to be formally arraigned tomorrow.

Myers' attorney, Paul Messing, and Wang's lawyer, William Spade, did not return calls for comment.
