This Weekend: Phila. Museum of Art gets naked

Instead of taking your valentine to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to impress her with your cultured intelligence, why not take her there to see the nudes?

This Saturday afternoon, the Philadelphia Museum of Art will be holding a scavenger hunt - with a special Valentine's Day twist.

Indeed, people will be hunting down paintings and sculptures of naked figures composed by famous artists such as Matisse, Rodin and Degas throughout the museum.

Groups of up to eight people can register online for the two scavenger hunts scheduled for this Saturday or the following Saturday, during which they get to run wild around the museum, looking for clues and solving mind-boggling questions.

The event is coordinated by Watson Adventures, an organization that holds critically acclaimed scavenger hunts in cities across the country such as Boston, New York and Los Angeles.

Participants will be given a series of questions and clues and must try to answer as many questions as possible in the two hours allotted. Besides bragging rights, the winning group of people will all get a free T-shirt with "Watson Adventures Scavenger Hunt 2007 Winner" on the back.

Although the prize is small, Watson Adventures believes that the purpose of the scavenger hunt is purely for the fun of the experience, according to its Web site.

And since this particular hunt at the Art Museum is a hunt for the nudes, who can lose?

Watson Adventures also organizes private hunts, coordinating fun, team-building activities for companies across the country.

The organization quotes founder and CEO of Amazon.com, Jeff Bezos, who said, "I can't think of a better way to bring people together and have fun." Bezos received a scavenger hunt at the Met from his wife for his birthday.

Tickets are available for $25 at Eatsonadventures.com/schedule_philadelphia.html.
