He also won Best R&B; Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for "Family Affair," a tribute cover to R&B; band Sly & the Family Stone that also featured Joss Stone and Van Hunt.

The two awards mark a second successful turn at the Grammys for Legend, who took home three awards at the 2006 show.

Prior to his solo career, Legend made a name for himself working with hip-hop artist Kanye West on the Grammy-winning album The College Dropout.

He truly broke out onto the music scene with the release of his 2004 album, Get Lifted, which featured the hit song, "Ordinary People."

Get Lifted went platinum and rose to #4 on the U.S. music charts.

He followed on that effort with his latest album, Once Again, which was released in 2006.
