Penn will send seven fencers to the NCAA Championships, which begin Thursday in Houston, Texas.
Four men and five women qualified, including three foilists each.
However, teams can only send two men and two women from each weapon, so two sophomore foilists, Corey Purcell and Zoya Abdikulova will go only as alternates.
From the Regionals, the top 7 from each weapon qualify.
Sophomore Ron Berkowsky led the way for Penn. The sophomore came in as the top seed, but finished third, the best for Penn.
"I did what I needed to do," Berkowsky said.
He was a little disappointed because "both of the guys who finished ahead of me I had beaten during the season."
The coach was satisfied with his performance.
"He did well enough," Penn coach Dave Micahnik said. "Really, all you want to do is get into the NCAAs."
Michael Galligan finished seventh in the foil en route to qualifying, and Matthew Kolasa finished fifth in sabre as the other men's qualifier.
The men's team did not qualify anyone in the epee.
On the women's side, freshman Ilana Sinkin was the surprise, taking second in the foil. Her weaponmate, freshman Abby Emerson, took sixth. Both qualified for the NCAAs.
Sinkin came into the day ranked twelve, but still fenced well enough to qualify.
Junior Holly Buechel placed fourth in the epee and Cassandra Partyka got fifth in the sabre to round out the qualifiers.
Micahnik was happy to get a good amount of invites to the NCAAs.
"Just to get there is a big deal," he said.
In other news, Berkowsky and Buechel were named First Team All-Ivy, while Purcell, Galligan, junior Katelyn Sherry and Emerson were named to the second team.
