Long-suffering Philadelphia fans are one step closer to ending their 22-year title drought.
The Eagles ended their three-year losing streak in the NFC championship game, beating the Atlanta Falcons 27-10 at Lincoln Financial Field yesterday.
The Birds advance to Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Fla., where they will play the New England Patriots, the defending world champions.
Philadelphia had lost at St. Louis after the 2002 season, and then at home to Tampa Bay and Carolina following the 2003 and 2004 seasons, respectively.
Donovan McNabb was 17-of-26 passing for 245 yards and two touchdowns, and Atlanta's vaunted running attack was held to just 103 total yards on 27 attempts.
Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick was held to 133 passing yards and no touchdowns.
