Lorelli named Philly's F. Hockey 'Most Valuable'
After a record-breaking season at Penn, junior Liz Lorelli has been named Most Valuable Player of the Philly City 6, while senior Emily Farnesi and sophomore Lea Salese received All-Philadelphia honors.
Lorelli lead the Ivy League in both goals (20) and points (43), smashing Penn's all-time records in both categories along the way.
The Greenwich, Conn., native also earned a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection, and was named a third-team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The Quakers dominated the City 6, posting a 5-0 record in local league play. On the season, Penn finished 10-8, its first season above the .500 mark since 1997.
Penn ended its season on Nov. 15 with a 2-1 loss to Yale in the ECAC Championships.

Scoring snafu forces overtime for Columbia
Columbia's Allan MacQuarrie may have made all four of his free-throws in Tuesday night's defeat of Sacred Heart, but that's not how the scorekeepers saw it initially.
With 3:47 remaining in regulation, the junior guard made a shot from the charity strip to tie the game at 68. The scoreboard, however, read 68-67 in favor of the host Pioneers (2-2).
Regulation play ended with the score tied at 73, when in fact Columbia should have been awarded the victory by a point. Officials ruled that too much time had transpired between when MacQuarrie made the shot and the error was noticed to revise the score, sending the game to an extra period.
The Lions (1-2) went on to notch their first win in 20 games, defeating the Pioneers, 85-79.
