The Penn field hockey team will have its hands full tomorrow in its season finale.

The Quakers will be traveling to Princeton where they will face the Tigers who have already wrapped up their ninth-straight Ivy League title.

Not to mention the fact that Tigers have also won 58 of their last 59 league contests.

"Our team's just going to play our game and hope," freshman goalie Amanda Jacobs.

The Tigers will be looking to close their regular season in style.

Despite a second tough loss this season to the top-ranked team in the nation, Old Dominion, Princeton bounced back with a big win over North Carolina.

The Tar Heels were ranked eighth in the nation before they were handed a 4-2 loss by Princeton.

A win for the Red and Blue would spoil Princeton's currently unblemished Ivy League record. Although the Tigers have already clinched the conference title, the Quakers would still love to send Princeton into the NCAA playoffs fresh off a season-ending loss.

Princeton's offensive attack is led by senior Ilvy Friebe. Friebe has an incredible 22 goals and 53 points heading into her final Ivy League game.

Friebe has scored only seven fewer goals than all of Princeton's opponents combined this season.

As for the Quakers, this game is meaningless in their overall record, but a victory over Princeton (10-6, 6-0 Ivy League) would be nothing short of a season-capping classic.

At 6-10 overall, the Red and Blue (2-4 Ivy) have fought valiantly to salvage their season after early season struggles. The Quakers have won four of their last six matches and have moved themselves back into a three-way tie for fifth place in the Ivy standings.

Penn is tied with Yale and Brown.

"The team's been improving the whole season," Jacobs said. "It's really been amazing."

Boosted by an offensive explosion by sophomore Liz Lorelli (10 goals this year) and the continued improvement of the defense, Penn's play in the second half of the season has dramatically improved.

For senior co-captain Kylee Jakobowski and her fellow class-mates, this will be the last chance for them to upset Princeton.

After losing last season 6-1 at to the Tigers home, the Quakers enter tomorrow's game with the hope that they can pull off one of the biggest upsets in recent memory.
