The male University student who reported that he was robbed at gunpoint at 46th and Spruce streets Sunday morning received only minor injuries.
The 21-year-old student said that two men approached him from behind at approximately 8:40 a.m. The first robber reportedly placed a black revolver at the front of his head and told him to get on the ground and turn over his money.
The student got on the ground and the second assailant removed the student's wallet and cell phone from his pockets. The two men then fled the scene.
During the incident, one of the men reportedly stepped on the student's hand. The student was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, but was immediately released as only minor bruising was sustained.
The student described the first man as a black male in his mid-30s, approximately 5'7" tall. The second assailant was also described as a black male, aged 22 to 23, approximately 5'9".
The last time a Penn student was robbed at gunpoint was in April, when two male students were robbed while walking near 41st and Pine streets. The incident occurred between 1 and 2 a.m.
