Weekend Results: W. Squash goes 0-4 over busy weekend

The Penn women's squash team did not have a light weekend. Instead, the Quakers kept busy, playing in two states a day.

Saturday they Quakers challenged Trinity (Conn.) in the morning but were decidedly beaten in every matchup. The Red and Blue left the state of Connecticut without a single victory, losing the meet 9-0.

But the day was not over. Penn headed on to the Williams Invitational in Williamstown, Mass., where the Quakers faced a trio of formidable opponents.

In its first matchup against Amherst, Penn won four matches, but dropped five, ultimately losing to the Lord Jeffs.

This result would become redundant by the end of the tournament, as Penn lost, 5-4, to Bates and Cornell as well.

Junior Runa Reta, a recent addition to the Penn squad after spending a semester abroad, won all of her matches at the Williams Invitational.

Freshman Linda McNair also posted a 3-0 record at the two-day event, as did rookie Rohini Gupta.

Senior captain Alex Black won both of her matches against Amherst and Cornell.

The Quakers compete again this weekend at the Amherst Invitational.
