Monsters, Inc. shows us what was really making those noises in our closets as little kids. While the Walt Disney logo does show during the opening credits, there are no frolicking deer or caring lions running about in Monsters, Inc. The three previous Pixar flicks (Toy Story, A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2) displayed a sharp wit that made the movie just as enjoyable for an older audience, and the same can be said for Monsters, Inc. This animated movie is marketed for kids, but don't let that deter you. I'll stress how fun this movie is: I had a bratty 6-year-old sitting behind me, kicking my seat non-stop for 90 minutes, and I came out of the theater smiling. Maybe I'm a sucker for John Goodman's voice... or maybe this is just a legitimate flick from a bunch of people who continue to produce good movies.
