Crafts Fair
Locust Walk
Through Friday
10 a.m.-6 p.m., Free
So, OK, the same vendors are there every year. Silver, silver everywhere! But those puzzle rings are damn cool, and you can never have enough candles for the neverending endeavor to burn down the high rises and get those annually rumored new dorms. At the very least, it gives those sorority girls a viable excuse to stop right smack dab in the middle of the walkway in that 11:50-noon rush-to-class time period.
Robbie Fulks/Beaver Nelson band
Tin Angel
20 S. Second Street
8:30 p.m., $10
(215) 928-0770
A full night of country rock heaven is no doubt when Robbie Fulks and Beaver Nelson share the stage. The two have long been gaining recognition and are really just now getting their due. Both have their own unique bents of roots rock that puts to shame anything that passes for country on the radio these days. Shania Twain is certainly a fine-looking woman, and we're glad she feels like a woman as opposed to a man, but if you're more in the market for real music (read: artists who play instruments and have talent) then check this show out and thank us later.
Faculty Exhibition
Addams Hall Gallery
200 S. 36th Street
9 a.m. to 5 p.m., free
Now, your art professor has been telling you what to do for the past month and though he seems to know what he's doing, you're beginning to think that he's just a Picasso wannabe who couldn't hack it. Well, here's your chance to see what he has to offer and critique his art. The Faculty Exhibition offers a chance for university professors to put their artwork on display to be misinterpreted and mocked by more people who don't know what they're talking about. Either that or you will realize that your prof actually does know what he's talking about and that you really are talentless. It's a win-win situation.
