Fencing lands eight on All-Ivy squads Mike Golia, a junior with the sabre, was Penn's only honoree on the first team after a season in which he led the Quakers with 10 Ivy victories and tied for the team lead with 29 overall victories. Yale Cohen, who dominated the field at NCAA Regionals last weekend, was named to the second team with the foil, as was his brother Dave. Both honorees from the women's team were freshmen. Foilist Lauren Staudinger led the Quakers with 37 wins this season and will go to the NCAA Championships at Stanford today. Staudinger will be joined in Palo Alto, Calif., by epeeist Kim Linton, who was 10-5 in the Ivy League and placed 10th at IFAs. The league honors were determined by winning percentage over the course of the season. -- Jesse Spector Former Princeton asst. joins Football staff The Penn football team hired its second new offensive assistant of the off-season yesterday. Kirk Ciarrocca, who spent four years as the wide receivers coach at Princeton, took the same position on the sidelines for Penn, taking over for Rick Ulrich. -- J.S.
