On the SAS pilot On the SAS pilotTo the Editor: The student members of CUE, as well as those members of the Student Committee on Undergraduate Education who have been involved in curricular change, have been offering input and criticism at every stage in this process. Faculty and administrative members of CUE have been receptive to and engaging with students. They have explicitly involved students in the administrative structure of the pilot curriculum by reserving spots for them on the Pilot Evaluation and General Requirement committees. We strongly support the DP's sentiment that such involvement should continue, and that it should come to include those students who shall be the first participants in the pilot curriculum. The inclusion of such students shall certainly be in keeping with the faculty's current efforts, and past experience gives us no reason to doubt that student involvement shall continue to be a vital part of this process. He wishes for another beer tap at Smoke's and a Burger King. Why doesn't he just skip the middleman and wish for cirrhosis of the liver and colon cancer? During the holiday season, different religions urge us to be charitable to each other. Instead, Mr. Callahan chooses to insult women, make fun of the mentally ill, condemn people with weight problems and whine about his own petty concerns. I guess wishes like "an end to world hunger" and "peace in war-torn areas" are overrated. Tamara Zuromskis Law '01
