Field Hockey loses to Crimson in overtime

When Collins' unassisted shot crossed the net, it not only broke a 20-minute scoreless string but also sealed the end to two longer Penn streaks. Entering the game, the Quakers (3-3, 2-1 Ivy League) were a perfect 2-0 both at home and in the Ivies. Now, both records stand at 2-1. "I really don't think that our team was prepared to play seven-a-side," Dunn said. "The shot was right on goal and I just didn't get it." Harvard got on the scoreboard first Saturday morning with a Dominique Kalil goal 13:20 into the first half. Penn missed a golden opportunity to tie the game just after halftime as Maureen Flynn missed a penalty shot. But with 19:20 to go in the second half, Bess Freedlander beat Anya Cowan, to knot the score at one. Then came the long scoring halt. One factor hurting the Red and Blue again on Saturday was a failure to shoot the ball on goal. Dunn and Cowan both saved 83.3 percent of the shots on goal. However, Dunn, who faced 12 shots to Cowan's six, inevitably suffered the loss. -- Marc Edelman
