U. investigates AEPi in frosh alcohol poisoning The investigation will deal with an incident that began last Thursday night, when the freshman girl was rushed to the hospital for alcohol poisoning after consuming more than 10 drinks at an AEPi fraternity party. The 17-year-old student was attending a "hotel" party at the fraternity, at which each room served a different mixed drink. The girl said she drank about 10 mixed drinks and at least two shots of tequila. "We will complete an investigation and report to [the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs] if we find violations of a collective nature," Goldfarb said. The investigation is moving as quickly as possible, she said. OFSA and the InterFraternity Council will then evaluate the results. Punishment could range from social probation to suspension. Tom Carroll, the assistant director of OFSA, declined to comment on the specifics of the case. But he said that AEPi's national organization has been notified and they will wait to see the outcome of the investigation. AEPi chapter President Dan Tehrani, a Wharton junior, refused to comment on the investigation, instead referring all questions to the national fraternity, which could not be reached for comment yesterday. -- Catherine Lucey Urban Outfitters gets set for Oct. 2 opening Urban Outfitters clothing will open its doors in the University's Sansom Common retail and hotel complex by October 2, according to Jay Hammer, an official at the chain. The retailer -- which is making its return to its original home, University City, after closing its store at 4040 Locust Street last year -- will be located on the east side of the complex at the corner of 36th and Sansom streets. Urban Outfitters joins the new Penn Bookstore as well as other upscale and trendy stores including the Xando coffeehouse and bar, which opened in August; Parfumerie Douglas cosmetics, which is scheduled to open on October 24; and Eastern Mountain Sports, which is opening around Thanksgiving. Urban Outfitters is part of the $90 million first phase of Sansom Common, which is built on the site of a former parking lot. The second phase of the project will include the 256-room Inn at Penn -- scheduled to be completed on August 31, 1999 -- as well as two additional retailers and a restaurant. -- Seth Grossman
