The Quakers (6-8) enter the 7:30 p.m. start at Christl Arena and are expecting a victory over the Lady Knights (5-11). The Quakers are coming off a 70-63 home victory over Lafayette last Saturday, led by freshman Diana Caramanico's 29 points and 15 rebounds. "We should have beaten them by a lot more," senior co-captain Michelle Maldonado said after Monday's game. "Army's the same type of thing." Like the Quakers, Army is having a surprisingly good season. The Lady Knights went just 1-25 in their 1996-97 campaign. This is only the second all-time meeting between the two squads. Army won the first meeting 83-71 at the Palestra on February 12, 1981. Although the Quakers' 6-8 record is surprising, it is also eerily similar to last year's. After an equally surprising 6-9 start, the Quakers lost their final 11 games to finish the season at 6-20. Both teams started the Ivy League season 2-1. But a win over Brown -- last season's runner-up to the Ivy League title -- seems to indicate that this year's edition of the Quakers are for real. Tonight's game is a chance to distinguish themselves from the 1996-97 team by entering the heart of the Ivy League season riding a two-game winning streak. -- Dan Tenenblatt
