Anderson was at his Palm Coast, Fla., home Wednesday when he suffered a heart attack, the university said in a statement. He began coaching at Brown in 1973, after the team struggled through eight consecutive losing seasons. Anderson turned the program around, recording eight winning seasons from 1973 to 1980. His 1976 team captured Brown's only Ivy League championship with an 8-1 overall record and a 6-1 Ivy record. Anderson compiled a 60-39-3 overall record before leaving Brown for the New England Institute of Technology. He moved to Florida in 1984 to direct the school's Palm Beach program and retired about two years ago. A Carlisle, Pa., native, Anderson graduated from Ursinus College in 1954. A funeral will be held in Palm Coast later this week.
