To Art History Professor David Brownlee and his team for spearheading the effort to increase academic support and programming in campus residences. To Provost Stanley Chodorow for his dedication to the University throughout his term, including his work on the Perelman Quad, the 21st Century Project and the plan for residential revitalization. He will be missed. To the University Police for continuing to improve campus safety by increasing the number of officers on the street and employing a team to specifically combat robberies. To the University City organizations who worked with the University to get the special services district off the ground, with its town watch and clean-up programs. To Vice President of Goverment, Community and Public Affairs Carol Scheman, UC Brite officials and local landlords for helping to light up area streets. To student government groups for sponsoring the successful student-faculty lounge in the Faculty Club, "No Place Like Penn" weekend and other tangible change initiatives. To the College of Arts and Sciences for pushing toward the approval of a submatriculation program that would allow its students to earn a law and bachelor's degree in six years. To University Trustee Chairperson Roy Vagelos and his wife Diana for their $10 million donation for undergraduate research, which once again proved their commitment to the University. To the Trustees Council of Penn Women for inviting Hillary Clinton to campus as part of its 10th anniversary celebration. To University alumnus Stanley Prusiner for winning the Nobel Prize, and to Biology Professor Dan Janzen for his enviornmental work which garnered him Japan's coveted Kyota Prize in Basic Sciences.
