The event is open to all Penn students, though non-sophomores must pay for food. Six local Philadelphia bands -- 5,000 Deep, Fat Head, Skablazers, Nectar, Keepsakes and Stuffing -- will vie for prize money in the battle of the bands. The competition will be judged by three members of the 34th Street staff, who will be taking crowd response into account as they evaluate the band. Class of 1999 President and Wharton sophomore Clive Correia said he expects at least 1,000 students to attend the event. "We planned this event in order to give members of the class of '99 a chance to get together with everybody and have a nice, relaxed chill time before finals and everyone leaves for the summer," he explained. -- Marisa Katz
