College 1996 graduate Salman Sajid, the 111th board's art editor, recalls Hsu's early years at the DP. "She had a knack for making animal noises," he said. "Oh yeah, and one time she thought the word "Catholic" was for people who like cats. She was about to join a religious group because she totally loves cats. Yeah, in the beginning I had my doubts about Amber." He went on to make some positive remarks, but due to space considerations, they have been cut. Inside sources say her monkey noises won her the position of art editor. Apparently, Amber not only loves animals but lives like an animal. "She used to like eating cheese that was really old," says close friend Anne Hsu. "She would drop it somewhere and lose it for a while. Then in a couple of weeks she would find it and eat it. Her house is gross." The disorder is not contained to her home. According to the future Art Queen herself, unruly laundry has kept her away from Chats since an unfortunate incident last year when her freshly laundered black shirt carried a pair of black nylons with it. As she was leaving Chats, an employee stopped her and asked if the nylons on the table were hers. Hsu recognized the garments as her own, but out of embarrassment said no. The employees began a game of "catch the nylons" while Hsu crept out of the building. She has not returned to Chats since. -- Mike DeMarco
